T-Ball

It's hard to believe we only have one more T-Ball game, it's has been such a fun season!

When we started some of the girls had really never played softball before.  I can see improvement in all of them and I think that they all will play again which is really the goals at this level!

Disney Trip

We just got back from Disney!  It was a great trip, I don't even know where to begin.  I loved watching Jackie and Grace when we were walking up to the castle for the first time, and seeing their faces light up when Mickey came out.  It was so much fun to ride the rides with them, and experience the "magic" of Disney with them.  I especially loved watching Grace at Chef Mickey's, she was eating chocolate ice cream and wasn't going to stop for anyone (including Mickey and Minnie).  One of the highlights was meeting Anna and Elsa.  I can't tell you how many times we have watched Frozen and sang Let it Go, when we got into the room with them I think Jackie and Grace were a little star struck, when Elsa asked what the girls were good at Jackie said "playing" and Grace said "untying shoes!"  We all got a good laugh out of that one, including Elsa.

Club Yesterday

I don't know about you, but I am feeling the January grays!  I heard on the news that in December, West Michigan had 9% of available sun!  That catches up to you after a while.  Yesterday was Tuesday, so that means we have our after school program at the Intersection, which is know to the kids and leaders as "club."  The weather was gross, we were down a few key volunteers (thanks to my dad coming we were up a key volunteer), there was a huge puddle in front of the door that we had to put boards across to get kids in the door, it just felt like it was going to be one of those days.  The kids however, were pretty well behaved.  When I got done with devotions, a little 6th grade guy came up to me and wanted to talk.  We went down to the office and he told me he had never had a Bible before and was wondering if I had one for him, which of course I did.  Then he asked me to mark it up so that he would have some stories to read for the week.  It was a sweet time, and fun talking about Moses, Joseph, and David, especially since he had never heard those stories before.  Before he left for the afternoon, he came up to me and gave me a hug and said thanks for the Bible!  Made my day/week as you can imagine.  I just want to thank everyone who supports (financially, prayerfully, volunteering) Belay Youth Ministry for making those opportunities possible.  God is at work through this ministry to make a difference in these students lives!
