I want a Bass this time!

We spent Memorial Day at Abby and Jason's house this year! I am hoping that Abby has some good pictures because amidst all the activity I didn't take any. The afternoon was spent updating some of Jason's landscaping, including planting a 10ft tall birch tree, about 25 grasses and some new shrubs. Thanks to his neighbor Carlos, my dad, Cheryl, Jason and myself, it doesn't look half bad, in fact the tree looks great. Once everyone else arrived it was down to the beach for some fishing, sand castle building and throwing of golf balls. It was fun to watch everything, but the best was watching the kids "fishing!" Paul and Gary were really doing the fishing but once they had one on and about reeled in then the kids would take over and shout "look what I caught!" At one point Austin was ordering fish as if it were a drive through..."I want a bass next time," he would say and then squeal at the top of his lungs when one was hooked! I think Grandpa Ed got the most enjoyment out of watching the fishing, my dad talked to my Aunt Sharon yesterday and she said he is still talking about it. We had burgers for dinner, with fruit and corn and chips, but the highlight of the meal was watching when Abby emerged with the M + M cones that I had bought for dessert. The kids (big and small) all enjoyed them. When I saw them at Meijer I had to have them, they reminded me of Grandma Jackie, and they were on sale (BONUS)! It was a great day and a good start to the summer! Can't wait to spend some more time down on the shore at Abby and Jason's!

After School at the Interesection

It's hard to believe but yesterday was our last after school hours at the Intersection for the year. It has been a fun year and since most of these students are in 6th grade, I hope to being seeing them again next year. We ended the year with over 90 students on our roster which is more that I ever thought we would have for our 1st year! We have 17 signed up for camp this summer, which is also very exciting! And in July we will be hosting a golf outing at Diamond Springs with all of the money going directly to support Belay. If you are interested in golfing, being a sponsor, donating a prize, or volunteering that day please contact me directly. Thanks again for all of your support, I could not do this ministry without all of your help!
