Friday night the Faasse Family gathered at the BoatWorks to celebrate Kirsten's 9th Birthday, Grandma's Birthday and remember Grandma and Grandpa's anniversary. The dinner went well, and then we all went back to my parents house for cake and coffee and that's when the storm of the summer hit! Wind, rain and lightening! I think it took people an hour and 40 minutes to get back to Grand Rapids from our house. I live a mile from my parents house and in that mile I think there was something like 13 trees that had fallen over. There were four on my little street. Finally, Sunday afternoon my parents power/cable/phone have been turned back on. To give you an idea of how much rain we got, yesterday when I drove past the Anchorage Marina parking lot I saw two little girls swimming in it.....GROSS!

This week is VBS at Community, the theme is Western Round Up where Kids are Wanted by God. Should be a good time, I am in the skit as a Sheriff, last time I was in the skit my name was bugbert and I have been called that for the past 6 years. Oh well could be worse I guess.
OH YEAH...Geneva was a huge success! Some of the kids weren't sure about calling the counselors Aunt/Uncle or the songs with motions at the begining of the week, but they all totally bought into it by the end of the week. I can't wait to meet with all of the kids that went and get their versions of the week. I'm sure they have some storm stories too. Thanks again to the staff at Geneva for a great week, I know that each of those kids lives has been forever changed!
