REMIX

Friday night was REMIX! REMIX is a monthly outreach event put on by YFC and Community Reformed Church. We have a dance, movies, video games, open gym, and pizza and pop. The kids love, and so do I, it really is fun and loud, thanks to Rick! This was the last one of the school year, and we all had a great time. Congratulations to Lucas VanderKolk who won the dance off! Oh and 11 hours after this was over, Tara and I ran 10 miles!

Top Chef

I'm staying home tonight, and I'm okay with it cause the weather is horrible, and one of my favorite shows in on TV, TOP CHEF. It's basically a survivor-like show where chefs compete each week to make the best dish, usually under difficult circumstances, or with weird ingredients. Anyway I am watching the show, and one of the contestants made a mushroom stuff with blueberries and pecarino cheese, sounds gross to me.

Think Spring??

This is not at all what I was picturing for Spring....but we live in Michigan so I guess I can't say that I am suprised!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The kids were all decked out in GREEN today! I guess one of the 7th grade teachers was actually giving extra credit if you wore green today. My sister told me a few jokes that she was going to tell her class today, so I will share them with you...or at least the ones that I can remember.

I was in my first year at GVSU and hating it! I worked for We Care Lawn Care, and drove back to my dad's old church every Sunday! I refused to go to Community...until Mary and Mary got to me!

I would buy a plane and a house in Colorado so I could split my time. I would quit my job and volunteer with Tara during the school year and at Noah's in the summer. Also, I would make sure that Tara's fundraising was taken care of! Oh yeah, my Grandma would have a new computer with high speed Internet!

Snickering Sailor

Tara and I ran 8 miles today, so what do I do after that...treat myself (well actually I allowed my Mom to treat me...thanks Mom!)to a little something from Captain Sundae(A Snickering Sailor! Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate, Caramel and Snickers!). It was AWESOME! I am sure that you all are aware that the one out by my house is open, and the one in Zeeland opens up on Thursday! Not only is Captain Sundae open, but the DNR was at the beach today, charging cars to get in, I think it's a little early for that, don't you?

Grandma Can See Again...well at least out of one eye!

This is my Grandma and I on Halloween....little did she know that she be seeing a real surgeon in a few short months! My Grandma had cataract eye surgery yesterday, everything went well and when I talked to her on the phone last night she said she felt a little like a pirate with that eye patch on...ARRR! Hope you are doing good today Gram, I'll talk to you soon! Maybe we should be pirates next year for Halloween!

Bring on the Baseball

I can't wait for baseball! The Tigers are my team and always have been. Alan Trammel and Chet Lemon were my favorite growing up. My Grandma Jackie is a huge baseball fan, she played in her day with the Grand Rapids Chicks. We always talk baseball, and watch the games as much as possible. She is going to be jealous when she finds out that Tara, Scott, and I are going to a game over Spring Break. Unfortunately, the Tigers lost to the Astros 11-10 today. Polanco is my Tiger, who's yours?
