Long Day!

I thought I was going to the Tiger Game with the 7th Graders today.....I got to school at 7:30 and sat in on the parent meeting before we left. The teacher in charge informed us that one of the buses had hit a deer on they way over, but we would work everything out. Guess which bus I was on! SO, all the other buses leave for Detroit and I am stuck in Zeeland with 2 teachers, 2 parents, and about 30 kids and no bus. One of the teachers puts in a DVD and tells us she is going to make some phone calls and try to figure this out, and could we stay and keep an eye on the kids....

An half an hour later the teachers are back with doughnuts but no news on the bus. 2 and half hours after that, they tell us there is no possible way that we are going to get to the game. I felt so bad for the kids, the rest of their class is in Detroit watching the Tigers win, and we are stuck here with no bus! We took the kids to see Prince Caspian (which was a good movie but under the circumstances...didn't really hold a candle to the Tigers). I am sure that the school is going to have to deal with some angry parents....I mean I was bummed, so I know the kids were even more. Thanks to Darcy for taking me out for a steak dinner for taking her place on this field trip!

The good thing about today was I still got to hang out with the kids! AND, Tara and Jake came over and sat on my porch with my new deck chairs!

Tiger Game Anyone?

Tomorrow is the 7th grade field trip to the Tiger Game....and I get to go too! One of the parents that was supposed to go is sick and called me today to see if I might be interested in taking her spot....let me think...YEAH I'll go! Especially cause I get to hang out with some girls that I hav gotten to know really well over the past year, so it should be a lot of fun. They won last night, and they are winning right now so lets hope that the hitting/winning streak continues!

Birthday Present!

Thanks Kelly, Tara and Adam for my new deck chairs! They gave me $$ for my birthday to get deck furniture and I got two and a table! So if anyone is headed out to the beach stop by and check em out! I will try to get a picture of me in one and post it later this week...it's a little chilly right now!

Not much new to report, just getting ready for summer camp, summer institute and Noah's Ark. I can't believe that it's almost here! I can't wait to see you Jackson! One month from now we will be throwing rocks in the river! For those of you that were playing in the basketball tournament or planning on attending the Chicken BBQ, it has been postponed to August, I think the 22-23. I guess that's okay though because now I can go to my cousin Andrea's graduation open house!

2 in May

Every year around my birthday my mom and my Grandma remind me that when I was about to turn two I would walk around saying "2 in May." It's been while since then...I turned 29 on Friday and had a great birthday! Lunch with Tara, dinner with Lynette and the kids, Whitecaps after dinner with Lynette, the kids, and Sarah and her kids! Thanks for all the cards, gifts, calls, meals, and facebook comments. I had an awesome birthday!

It's Over!

Well after 5 months of training the race is over! Thanks to everyone for all the pledges, support and prayers! I'm still not to point where I can say that running that far was fun, but I did enjoy the feeling of accomplishment, and couldn't have done it without my friend Tara. Great Job Tara, I hope your foot isn't hurting too bad! It was really cool to see all the people down there, and have a group with us too. People loved our shirts, we got a lot of compliments, thanks Jeff for designing them, and Melissa for helping with the cost! I'm resting comfortably on my couch watching Indiana Jones...Sarah I have no idea how you ran that race and then did the Tulip Time Parade...You go Girl!

Riverbank Run

Ok so 12 hours from now we will be well into the race. I am getting excited now...of course right when I should be thinking about sleeping! I'm ready well at least as ready as I am going to be! We went down to pick up the bags this morning and just seeing all the people gets you pumped, I can't imagine what it will be like with all the people tomorrow! And, it's supposed to be a beautiful day. Thanks to all those who have pledge and will be praying, I will try to update after the race tomorrow or on Sunday!

One Week Away...

The Riverbank Run is one week from today. We have been training for so long it's hard to believe that race day is almost here! Please pray for us! This is my first time, and I am a little anxious. Also, we have a group running for YFC please pray for their health and safety during the race.

Grandpa Don is home and doing well after his surgery this week! YEAH! Keep him in your prayers too as he recovers! Talk to you soon Gramps!
