Saturday..

Most of you know that my friend Tara and I are training to run the Riverbank run...which means that Saturday is the "long run" day. It hangs over your head until you get it done, so we like to run in the morning. We met at the gym, and despite the cold temps outside we went for it outside, we made it 6 miles outside and then decided to do the last two inside.
With the run out of the way, we went back downtown, Tara wanted to go to Gazelle Sports, and I needed to pick up some candy for a birthday party I had to go to. She had a gift certificate to a well known candy store in the area, that was a little old, but we thought since it wasn't for very much, they would honor it. We both picked out some candy, (that was overpriced) and brought it to the counter. The girls behind the register smiled and said she didn't know if she could take the gift certificate, but she would check with her boss (the owner), who is right next to us chatting it up with her friends. Basically, she refuses to take the certificate, and won't even look at us. Finally, she offers us a minor discount and dismisses us. I left the place totally disgusted, horrible customer service!
On a brighter note, I saw my Great Aunt Fran downtown also! She was decked out in her fur coat, shopping of course! And the night ended with a great dinner (and awesome customer service) at OBI with my Aunt Nancy, Uncle Bill, and cousins Karly, Grant and Kirsten...AND I also got to see Matt and Lynette and their kids at OBI. Wow what a packed day for nothing planned!

I can't stand bad customer service, I was just thinking today after a very pleasent experience at Perredies that service definately sells! Bummer too b/c PS has yummy stuff! Yeah for running 8 miles too, I just don't think no matter how hard I tried I could do it (negative thinking at it's best there). I did get some good excercise climbing the sledding hill though! I also tried a Grapple with E today, very yummy, but I feel like it was to much like just a plain old apple! (Maybe a little sweeter though).
